Enhanced Performance With Chip Tuning

Posted by Admin on June 30, 2010

Chip tuning is a relatively simple process that can significantly improve the performance of your vehicle. Today you will find that most of the contemporary engines come embedded with an Engine Control Unit. This feature is commonly known as ECU. It comes embedded with software that is designed to manage the ignition timing along with the fuel delivery. Chip tuning is a process that rewrites the software so as to have a positive impact on the fuel delivery maps.

You can significantly impact the turbo charger pressure of your vehicle with ECU remapping. As a result of this the engine starts to run more smoothly. Furthermore the horsepower and torque of the vehicle will also greatly improve. Experts suggest that professional chip tuning can increase your horsepower by more than 40%. You will also experience a similar improvement in the torque curve of your ride.

One of the things you need to keep in mind is the fact that these improvements will occur in only those engines that are embedded with turbochargers. If you conduct chip tuning on gasoline engines that do not have turbochargers you will experience limited improvement.

However this is only in comparison with the turbocharger engines whereas on its own gasoline engines will show an improvement of about 12%. You will find a noticeable difference in acceleration of your gasoline engine with proper chip tuning. Similarly the top speed of your vehicle will also improve as you conduct this procedure on your gasoline engine.
